Best Evernote app

Alternote is the Mac app Evernote should have built themselves. They managed to put most of the complexity of Evernote into a user interface that is so easy-to-grasp and use that it’s just like taking a note while having all your former notes accessible on your finger tip.
The only thing I really do miss in the app is a way to put another note to the screen and write a new one. That would be a superpower because I need to compare notes all the time.

What I like best is the simple 3-pane view where you easily can switch notebooks on the left, scroll through notes in the middle and quickly make a fix on the right. It’s as easy as the Mac notes app, but more sopicsticated (hierarchical stacks), more beautiful, and powerful without throwing it all in your face like Evernote sadly does. I much prefer the approach of leaving things out so that I have a really usable app as a result.
