Alternote the Note-taking App App Reviews

While this is a prettier looking app than what evernote gives, the styling features can be tricky to get right, but adequate for most usage. It has on many occassions resulted in conflicts when syncing notes across computers, something that the evernote native app never does. It has on one occassion reverted to a very old version of the note, and I did not have evernote premium, so the new changes were essentially lost. I won’t be using this app anymore because I cannot trust my data with it.

I’ve really enjoyed my first few days with Alternote. It’s “frictionless,” fast, and navigation is smooth and stable. The interface makes it a genuine pleasure to use. It’s particularly helpful for writing longer text in Evernote.

The aestetics are great, but the constant synch conflicts are a deal breaker. Nowhere near ready for prime time. This is a real shame, because the UI is wonderful and better than the original Evernote client in every single way.

UE is fancy but some shortcuts dont work on OS X 10.9.5. (i.e. copy, paste, undo, redo) Also if it has a function "open note in separate window” which is the original Evernote app has, it would be great personally. All in all, I cant help giving poor rate for now. Hope it updated soon. 個人差はあるのでしょうがノートが600個程度の私では起動スピードの差はあまり感じられず、またショートカットが機能しないものも散見されました。総じて本家evernoteとの優位性が見受けられず、個人的には600円分の価値は見出せませんでした。今後のアップデートに期待します。

V1.0が酷すぎて使っていなかったのですが、バージョンアップしたようなので再度使ってみたら、以前のバグは殆ど解消して、非常に快適になっていました。 主にEvernoteを会議のメモ取りに使っているので、純正クライアントの遅さに辟易していたのですが、Alternoteは非常に快適にノート取得ができるのでミーティング時はこちらが主役になりそうです。というわけで★1→4へ — 以下は1.0のレビュー -- 日本語の入力時に、1文字目で確定されてしまったりします。 （たとえば行頭に「す」を入力するときに「ｓ」で確定されてしまい「ｓう」と入力されてしまいます。 未だオススメできません。

表題の通り、ビジネスノートブック側には全くアクセスできませんので、Evernote Business契約者には辛い。 個人ノートを下書き扱いにして毎回移動すればエディタとしては使える…かも？ I wish to support Evernote Buisiness.

非常にUIが洗練されており、美しいアプリです。Distraction Freeモードは非常に優れており、文章を書くことに集中できます。 ただ、画像や添付ファイルの扱いが得意ではないので、画像メインでEvernoteを使用している方には合わないかもしれません。私は画像とpdfをよく扱うので普段は公式のもの使用し、英文を書いたりレポートを書いたりするときにはこのアプリのDistraction Freeモードを使っています。 なお、アプリ中の用語は全て英語で書かれており、リソースも全てコンパイル済みなので日本語化は不可能です。動作の軽さについては不明で、ノート数500程度の私の環境では公式のものもこのアプリも両方 非常に軽いです。 運営の態度は悪く、訳者を募っておきながらも応募メールは完全無視の対応です。（別々のメールアドレスから二通送っており、一通目は募集開始日の翌日、二通目は応募開始日から半年後） ＜追記＞ 文字列検索がうまく動作しないようです。ヒットする単語とヒットしない単語が存在し、再起動をかけても解決はしませんでした。なお、英文のノートで気づいた問題なので全角文字が原因などではありません。

Love Evernote, but they app so sloooooow. And Alternote is perfect client. Fast, simple, clean, beutiful. Love it. Thank you, guys.

I use pen table and have problem with actions into notebook list. Insted of open item my cursor drag that.

Some important features still missing, but anyway 5 stars for the great start. Add the ability to work with font colors and I’ll remove original Evernote app.

Would be good to have possibility to add two accounts and easily switch it. I like the app, please add password protection. It can help me to keep my notes on the working machine private.

It is certainly well designed and visually appealing, solves the old and persistent problem of navigating between notebooks we have in the official evernote client ... but still it has annoying bugs like crazy behavior when dragging images in a note from the desktop. One of the important features of this type of app is to be reliable, no one wants to put their own notes (work or personal that may be) in a place that does not inspire confidence. Good foundation, first. The rest to follow.

Alternote is a great supplement app for Evernote users who like a more straight foward design and the ability to color tags, which is a godsend for anyone who likes to organize visually. The Evernote ecosystem is smart, but it can be overwhelming with how it displays the notebooks and stacks, which is white on white on white. I still use Evernote app, but usually for scanning documents into one of my stacks. But, for my creative stuff, Alternote is first my step so I can organize my tags, which for anyone who is an Evernote freak, is key for search and organizing. And then there is the background options, night mode, focus and toggle options all with a smooth El Capitan flavor. At the time of this writing, it costs about 8 bucks. Well worth it.

Love the look and idea of the app. Had to go due to syncing errors! It would make so many duplicates of my notes. Hope that gets fixed. I’ll switch back asap if so.

As of May 12, 2016 Alternote had no technical problems on my machine (running Mac OS X El Capitain). It is a very clean interface. Very minimalist. Also, the dialogues (the interaction) is clear and well written. If you use Evernote for work, particularly for scholarly or creative work, I highly reccoomend Alternote.

When You Search far and wide for something simplistic elegant and just a breeze to sync and work with. Look no further. Some Colour themes for notebooks and notes would be appreciated as well as to hide notebooks (those I use on my phone and not my laptop over evernote sync)

I love so much about what Alternote is trying to accomplish. The UI is a breath of fresh air compared to Evernote. I love syncing selected notebooks to a more minimal, writing-focused environment. But the app has created tons of syncing and formatting issues over the past months, usually creating a few dozen “conflicting copy” notes every time I try to launch it. At first, the team seemed helpful in trying to solve the problem but eventually went incommunicado. Hope they can get it figured out soon, and I’ll be back!

I’ve been using Alternote since it was in beta, and I’ve loved the minimalist design and distraction free writing. But syncing issues have become increasingly worse, causing formatting issues and duplicate notes. As an academic and teacher, I use Evernote Premium to keep my research, PDFs, notes, and drafts organized. Unfortunately, the sync issues make Alternote unusable. I love the minimalist aesthetic and writing experience, but aesthetics aren’t a substitute for reliable integration with Evernote features and services.

Alternote is a great Evernote variation. I prefer Alternote when I do my notes because of how fluid and flexible it is. I love the layout. I’ve used/tries MANY (yes, caps, haha) of these softwares and Alternote has one of best potentials I’ve seen (Evernote is still the top one) - but Alternote is … well, very promising. My highest compliments to it’s creators and developers. Suggestions for the next versions would be (the following can be done in Evernote, which is great, but I very impressed with Alternote, would be great to be able to stay there and do everything I can in Evernote - since Alternote’s layout and workflow are very very smooth. 1) for ‘Note List Mode’ now is currently ‘Full’ or ‘Compact’ - both are great - I’d suggest one more options of showing previews of images or of the note itself - like Everenote does, I love that option when I’m looking visually through my notes. 2) Being able to read .pdf’s in my notes as opposed to download them. 3) Being able to annotate .pdf’s #disclaimer - I’m very happy with Alternote… but here are few things I’d like to see any of these softwares do in the future #challenge. This is what would help me very much with my work. a) When posting a link to music or video - have an automatic player preview and play-a-bility - so that I can view it in the given note (trello is able to do this in it’s cards). b) being able to customize background colors (I’m not complaining, Alternote does great with this, more options would be cool (I feel like I’m acting spoiled). c) tags are great, colored tags are excellent (as Alternote does), I wonder if being able to add selective color to each note in ‘Note List Mode’ Thanks for a great app - (this coming from a total app nerd) - keep going Alternote - I’ll be recommending this app to my Evernote friends - I wish I could support the Alternote team more than with a review since I’m sincerely rooting for it’s further development.

Love, love, love the editor as I think markdown is just so much more efficient to write and format. One little function I am sometimes annoyed about is that it immediately shows the formatting instead of source. That is a very, very little annoyance so I would give it 4 ¾ stars, but well that is not possible. Great program, simple, easy with efficient markdown, great way of doing all your writing on Evernote.
